WHY: Engaging middle school and high school students in the sciences is critical to filling the pipeline for the next generation of geoscientists. Taking on the challenges of providing reliable affordable energy, maintaining and securing water resources, and understanding the impacts of climate change on our environment will require the brightest of minds. As a land grant institution, Oklahoma State University and the Boone Pickens School of Geology offers an outstanding and affordable program ready to tackle these challenges. Community outreach and geo camps, especially for rural and under-served communities, will provide the opportunity to engage early and often with middle school and high school students that would not have the opportunity to explore the geosciences and see the rewarding careers possible in this field.
SUPPORT OUR GOAL: With your donation, we can bring hands-on geology education to under-served communities across Oklahoma through a Geo Camp, which will not only provide us the opportunity to engage with under-served middle school and high school students, but also provide current Boone Pickens School of Geology students the opportunity to engage in outreach, sharing their passion for geology.
THANK YOU: Thank you for enriching the experience of students, both current and prospective, within the Boone Pickens School of Geology. We can't do this without your support!
