Spring 2025-Hosted to Host, Gifted to Give

Why Your Support Matters ?

Every year, hundreds of international students arrive in our community filled with hope, excitement, and determination. Yet many of them face an immediate and unexpected challenge: the cost of settling into a new country. Some students step off the plane without secured housing. Others are unable to cover short-term living expenses. A few are even stranded with no place to stay.

Our team has been stepping into this gap for years, providing personal contributions and small-scale indoor funding to make sure no student is left completely unsupported. We have opened our homes, pooled resources, and done everything possible to make these students feel welcomed. But the need is growing, and it far exceeds what we can do alone.

That is why we are inviting you to partner with us. With your help, we will raise $10,000 to provide temporary lodging for new students for one to two weeks, giving them time and space to find permanent accommodation. At the same time, we will build a stronger community through cultural events that foster connection, celebrate diversity, and extend a warm welcome to all.

The Problem We Are Solving

Many students arrive in the U.S. without knowing the high upfront costs of housing deposits, transportation, and basic living expenses. Some cannot secure housing before arrival because they lack U.S. rental history, guarantors, or financial backing. Without immediate support, these students face unnecessary hardship that affects their academic focus and emotional well-being. The absence of a safety net leads to stress, disconnection, and in some cases even abandonment of study opportunities.

No student should ever have to start their educational journey this way.

Our Vision

We believe in a community where every student feels supported, welcomed, and prepared to thrive. This project is about more than lodging. It is about:

Providing stability: A safe and temporary place to stay upon arrival.

Restoring dignity: Ensuring students do not feel stranded or alone in their first days.

Building bridges: Creating cultural events where international students and local residents connect, share traditions, and grow together.

Expanding impact: Extending assistance not only to students but also to individuals in the broader community facing housing and financial insecurities.

The Goal

We are raising $10,000 to launch this initiative. This funding will allow us to:

  1. Secure temporary housing spaces that are clean, safe, and accessible.
  2. Provide essential living supplies such as bedding, food, and transportation assistance for newly arriving students.
  3. Organize cultural events that introduce students to the community, celebrate diversity, and encourage mutual support.
  4. Build a small emergency reserve to respond to urgent housing needs for students and community members alike.

What Your Gift Achieves

$50 provides meals and transit support for a newly arriving student.

$100 provides basic supplies such as bedding and essentials for a safe landing.

$250 covers one week of temporary lodging.

$500 covers two weeks of housing for a student, ensuring they transition smoothly.

$1000 sponsors a full student’s arrival experience including housing, supplies, and cultural orientation.

$5000+ sustains the project across multiple semesters, reaching dozens of students and community members.

Cultural Events: Building Belonging

Housing support is the starting point. Belonging is the destination. Through cultural events, we will:

  • Celebrate food, music, traditions, and stories from different countries.
  • Create safe spaces where students share their identities and feel proud of their backgrounds.
  • Foster mutual understanding between international students and the local community.
  • Reduce isolation and help students build friendships that last throughout their academic journey.

These events are not just entertainment. They are community-building milestones where diversity is celebrated, and inclusion is lived out in practice.
