Our Crowdfunding Groups
Hi there!! Our names are Caleb Jones and Amelia Henderson and we are two student videographers at OSU who have just received the opportunity of a lifetime. About two weeks ago, media professor Jared Johnson selected us to help him this summer in filming a documentary in Peru about the effects of social media on indigenous people groups. We will be the first OSU media students to do an international project. We will submit this film for national collegiate video competitions in Fall 2016 and hope to bring exposure to the hidden talents of OSU media students. The funds that we are attempting to raise will go toward separate hotel rooms throughout our 12 days in Peru. We have provided examples of our work below to show you our passion of video production.
"This opportunity means so to me because it combines my passion of videography with my love of South America. I was a Rotary Exchange Student for 10 months in Santiago, Chile to learn Spanish. While I was abroad, I received a scholarship from the O'Colly newspaper that sponsored my videography company I started in high school. This past year, I have been serving as the director of videography for the Orange House Agency. Orange House is a student-run marketing agency that produced multimedia content for various businesses and other clients. We recently purchased new video equipment that will be amazing to use in Peru, including a new drone! I am so excited to be able to travel back to South America! I want to thank each and every one of our supporters for making our dreams come true!"
"I studied abroad last year in Australia and absolutely fell in love with the aboriginal culture and have been fascinated with indigenous people groups ever since. To be able to combine my interests with my videography abilities is the opportunity of a lifetime. I am currently employed by Orange Power Studios, OSU's in-house production department, I host The Poke Report on OStateTV as well as doing other production work for OStateTV. This semester I won a few national awards at various collegiate video competitions. Getting to represent OSU media department at the national level was a humbling experience and it has motivated me to want to bring more light and recognition to our program.
