Each year, students with intellectual disability graduate from Oklahoma high schools with the hope and desire of attending college. We are committed to ensuring many of those students find their place within the Cowboy family through a new educational program, Opportunity Orange Scholars.
Based on the Stillwater campus and housed in the OSU College of Education and Human Sciences, Opportunity Orange Scholars will provide a college path for students who currently have no option of attending college in Oklahoma due to the level of support they require. The program includes a two-year, non-degree certificate with an additional two-year, non-degree advanced certificate program option. OSU will welcome its first cohort of young adults between the ages of 18 and 26 with intellectual disability to campus in fall 2022.
The total cost for an Opportunity Orange Scholar to attend the program for one academic year is $25,000-$30,000. This cost, which is a barrier for most families, is comparable to that of a degree-seeking student. With your support, deserving students will have the opportunity to engage in life-changing educational and social experiences at OSU.
Help us create an inclusive educational experience and enhance the quality of life for all by supporting student scholarships.
