The fire protection program at OSU-OKC is in need of additional equipment to train our students to become the next generation of firefighters. Our program primarily trains future Oklahoma firefighters but has recently experienced growth in training future firefighters in the south-central region of the United States. Due to this rapid growth, we have experienced a shortage of equipment in our inventory and need to add additional equipment as quickly as possible.
A rescue saw is used to cut ventilation holes on buildings to let the smoke out or create an alternative entry point to rescue building occupants. The saw would allow us to train future firefighters more effectively. The cost of this saw is $1,850.00
This saw is used to cut ventilation holes on residential roofs to allow smoke and heat to leave the building in order to aid firefighters in rescues and fire extinguishment. We would need two saws to facilitate the training of future firefighters. The saws typically cost $700.00 each.
The rescue dummy is used to train firefighters on the various techniques used to rescue victims from burning homes, ladder rescues, and car accident patient removals. These would be used to train our future firefighters. Each dummy costs $1,550.00 and four are needed.
