Thank you for giving to the Greenwood School of Music Student Support Fund! While this pledge period has ended, please consider giving to the fund by contacting the OSU Foundation.
How do you get to Carnegie Hall? Practice, practice, practice...but, what most people don't know about are the hidden costs required to "make it" as a musician. Traveling to auditions, repairing and purchasing instruments, registering for competitions, and attending conferences all cost money. Sometimes, the costs are so high that our students have to choose between paying rent and building their career.
The GSM Student Support Fund will provide a way for students to invest in their career while still being able to meet their basic needs. Funds will go toward helping students pay for travel expenses associated with attending professional development events; registration fees for competitions, music festivals, and conferences; membership fees for joining professional organizations; and emergency instrument repair expenses.
It isn't enough to just get a degree in music: our students need to build connections in the broader music community in order to craft the career they want. By giving to the GSM Student Support Fund, you can help them reach their goals without having to choose between affording basic needs and achieving their dreams.
