Transfer students make up 25% of the total undergraduate student population at OSU and account for a quarter of all new incoming students. The transfer student population is expected to grow over the next several years as higher education adjusts to a changing landscape at the national level including the increase of free or reduced community college tuition. Transfer students are a more diverse population with over 35% coming from marginalized or under-represented minority populations. They have a higher rate of need with 31% being Pell Eligible as compared to 23% for our total student body. Transfer students are retained at 83.4% and graduate at 67.2% which is nearly 15% higher than first-time full-time freshman. By supporting our transfer student leadership and success initiatives you are supporting so much more than that. You are supporting veterans, adults returning to school for their degrees or because they are changing careers, families and parents trying to better their lives and the 75% of our transfer students who are from Oklahoma and who give back to their communities by staying in the workforce here.
Donations will help support transfer student leadership and success by going toward important initiatives and programs like:
We had 1,623 new transfer students in the Fall 2022 Semester. Your donation will help each new transfer student who walks through our doors.
Your donation will make a huge impact to our transfer students and the services we are able to provide.
Transfer students are graduated at 67.2%. This donation will help us find ways to increase graduation rates and support transfer student success.
There are 1,516 First Generation Transfer Students. This donation will help them be the first person to graduate from college in their families.
There are 4,898 total transfer students enrolled. They are over 25% of the total undergraduate student body. Help us celebrate them and receive a personalized thank you from a transfer student.
Nearly 75% of our admitted transfer students are from Oklahoma. This donation will give them even more opportunities to succeed. Most of those stay in Oklahoma to contribute to the growth and innovation in our state.
Every year over 2200 new transfer students (Fall, Spring and Summer semesters) join us at Oklahoma State University. Join us in celebrating them and their accomplishments during National Transfer Student Week (3rd week of October) and know your gift benefits each new student and their success!
