The Oklahoma State University student chapter of the Associated General Contractors of Oklahoma plans to travel to Las Vegas, Nevada, to attend the annual AGC of America National Convention in March 2023.

Ten student chapter members and two faculty advisors will travel to and participate in the convention, March 13-16th  that is held in conjunction with the CONEXPO-CON/AGG trade show. The expo will feature more than 2,500 exhibitors, 2,500,000 square feet of exhibits and more than 150 educational sessions covering every major construction industry including asphalt, aggregates, concrete, earthmoving, lifting, mining, utilities and more.

The annual convention returns to Las Vegas every three years to coincide with the CONEXPO-CON/AGG show.

Students will attend the national convention to represent Oklahoma State University's Construction Engineering Technology program, and gain familiarity with the latest technologies and state-of-the-art equipment available to the industry.

The national convention will feature numerous events and breakout sessions for professional development for both students and industry professionals. There are also opportunities for students to participate in special breakout sessions.  There is a fun, mock design-build competition that combines students from different chapters and challenges them to work as a team to successfully complete the exercise and win against the other teams. Another spotlight event is the national Associated General Contractors awards banquet, which will recognize AGC-member companies for their outstanding accomplishments and exceptional projects in 2022.

Faculty advisors Dr. Amy Lewis, assistant professor; and Dr. Heather Yates, professor, both of the College of Engineering Architecture and Technology will accompany the students.

Travel to the convention will be made possible by donations from Oklahoma State University Construction Management Advisory Board and the generous donations of PhilanthroPete donors.
