Arnold Air Society is a professional, honorary, service organization advocating the support of aerospace power. The Thunderbird Squadron is a long-time part of Oklahoma State University's Detachment 670, having been established in 1950. We serve to embody the Air Force Core Values: Integrity First, Service Before Self, and Excellence in All We Do. One of the ways we do this, is by our efforts in serving the community. Whether through Tiny Paws, Lasagna Love, or cleaning up our local adopted highway, we love to help volunteer around the city of Stillwater. In addition to serving, other ways we carry on the traditions and honor of the Thunderbird Squadron is by attending the National Conclave (NATCON).
The National Conclave, NATCON, is the Arnold Air Society and Silver Wings national conference in which over 1,000 Air Force ROTC and Academy cadets and civilian college students from over 120 universities convene to share ideas on Air Force innovation and to grow our leadership. NATCON hosts many professional and educational seminars, military keynote speakers, and unique peer networking opportunities that go unparalleled to even those within the ROTC curriculum.
The Oklahoma State's Thunderbird Squadron of Arnold Air Society also hold leadership on the Regional level, representing AAS Region IX for all of Arkansas, Texas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma. As the Region IX Staff, our attendance holds more importance this year than in the recent past, and this is where you help and donation has the most notable difference. Every amount donated contributes to the expenses related to airfare, student registration, hotel, and other miscellaneous travel costs.
From The Thunderbird Squadron of Arnold Air Society, thank you for helping us attend NATCON so we can continue to Aim High!
Every donation goes a long way! Any contribution made will help decrease the total price for sending an Arnie to NATCON.
NATCON celebrates over 75 years of Air Force honor and tradition. Every student representing the Thunderbird Squadron helps us carry our legacy of strong leadership and followership.
Traveling to and from NATCON is also at the expense of each Squadron. Your donation of $150 will aid us in the travel costs of booking flights from Oklahoma to Nevada!
The cost for registration to NATCON is $365 on average. A donation this size would completely cover the cost for a cadet's registration!
Between the registration, airfare, meals, and activities, the total cost for an Arnie to go to NATCON is sums up to about $800. You could fund the entire trip for an OSU cadet to get to Nevada and back!
