Update | Laura Merriman

May 04, 2023

“The OK State BAE department changed my life. It’s an amazing community of kind faculty, caring staff, and driven students! All that starts at the top with great leadership. Dr. Elliott led with grace, always willing to help students….even after they graduated and he retired!” - Laura Merriman

Ron and Judith's commitment to the people of BAE did not end after his retirement in 2010. They both remain actively involved within our department

Update | OK Mesonet

May 04, 2023

Dr. Elliottt worked tirelessly in the 1980s to plan and implement the OK Mesonet. He has never stopped leading the collaborative institution over the last 30 years!   "He understands that the Mesonet is made up of people and he has always taken good care of the people" - Gary McManus, State Climatologist

Collectively the folks of the OK Mesonet say Thank You!

Update | Ray Huhnke

April 03, 2023

Drs. Ray Huhnke and Ron Elliott, BAE Emeriti Professors, have known each other for almost 50 years!  Dr. Elliott was a strong advocate for students and represented faculty very well at the department, in the colleges (Division of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources and College of Engineering, Architecture, and Technology) and University, and also at our technical society, the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE).  BAE has been fortunate to have him as a faculty member and starting in 2001 as a department head.

Update | Jana Douglass Moore

March 28, 2023

Dr. Elliott played a major role in where our departmental scholarships are today. He was very effective during his time as department head, doubling the number of named endowed scholarships.  He recognized the department’s greatest resource has always been its people—excellent students, faculty, and staff who have really made a difference. With this, and the support of BAE Emeriti and faculty, he made a concerted effort to generate gifts in support of undergraduate scholarships, student enrichment, and other special opportunities.  The number of student scholarship recipients increased from 15 undergraduates in 2001 to 52 undergraduates by the spring of 2011.
