We are so glad to have you here to learn a little bit about us. The WBC is a competitive team made to bring women together with a passion for basketball. We were established just three years ago, in 2021, and are working hard everyday to build our name and program.
What we do:
Each week, our team members have two practices that are two hours each as well as a strength training session. We have extremely high attendance rates, and strive to make it to every practice even through busy school and work schedules. This fall, we will travel to Waco, TX for a tournament and plan to host a tournament in mid-November. We can't wait to host again, as it was a success last year. Our main season, however, is in the spring. We will travel about 4 times throughout February and March. Last year, we traveled to Nacogdoches and Arlington, TX, and Lincoln, NE.
How You Can Help:
By donating to our club, you can help our team continue to grow. It is extremely expensive to travel for every game we play. Each weekend, we must pay to fill our tanks with gas, stay in hotel rooms, cover tournament entry fees, and yearly league fees. The annual league fee alone costs almost $2,000, with slight variation each year. There are also food costs, which players are responsible for independently. This does not mention the outside costs like uniforms, team warm-ups, and strength training costs. By graciously donating to our team, you allow us to keep player dues low. Our current dues are $250 per travel player, per semester. Although this is as low as we can make dues and stay a functioning club, this price is a barrier for many women to access our club. We do our best to make the team a financially inclusive experience and you have the opportunity to help us achieve that goal.

The donation of $10 allows the club to buy a new ball pump so that we can ensure our basketballs stay inflated and in their best shape.
We are looking to buy duffle bags to transport jerseys and practice pennies from tournaments and practices. Each bag costs $20 and this would allow our team to have an easier time traveling and a more professional appearance at tournaments.
Each new basketball purchased for the club costs at least $35. It is important that we are able to replace old balls with higher quality ones for our practices and to host tournaments.
Each new jersey we buy costs $52.50. A donation of this amount can help the club to ensure that high-performance uniforms are available for each travel player.
A donation of $250 covers the cost of dues for one player for one semester. Sponsoring an athlete would break the cost barrier that may keep some women off the court.
Each weekend that we travel (about 6 times a year) we need about 4 hotel rooms. These costs add up quickly and a donation of $800 would cover the costs of all hotel rooms for one night.
