About the Flying Aggies

The OSU Flying Aggies Flight Team, Nationals 2023

The OSU Flying Aggies are an aviation interest organization. As the second-oldest club on campus today, our goal is to foster an environment for the community, encourage interest in aviation, provide safe and economical flying for our members, and to advance the knowledge of membership in aeronautical and related subjects. The Flying Aggies are also home to the competitive NIFA Flight Team, who competes locally and nationally. Known for their orange flight suits and orange airplane, the Flight Team has won 9 National Championships and received the most prestigious award in aviation, the Loening Trophy, 21 times.

Sixty at the Union, 2023

The Flying Aggies' club aircraft, N600SU, is a 1969 Cessna 150K affectionately known as "Sixty" (or "Sixty OSU" by many alumni). From Flight Team competitions across the country to local fly-ins, Sixty has been an unforgettable part of Flying Aggies history since her acquisition.

Club Airplane: Sixty, Nationals 2023

While we all know Sixty is priceless, we also know that she's pretty expensive. With an engine overhaul on the horizon and 100-Hour inspections every few months, our projected maintenance costs for 2024 are over $15,000. We need help from donors like you to keep our plane in the air, and to make sure that Aggies for years to come are able to make memories together in N600SU.

$60

60 for Sixty

Part of our mission is to provide safe and economical flying for our members, and N600SU is a huge part of that. Donate $60 to help us keep N600SU up and running!

$100

100-hour Inspection

Did you know our club airplane, sixty, needs an inspection every 100 flight hours? While this may seem like a lot of flight time, when the plane is shared amongst many club members, the 100 hour inspection happens more often and frequently than you would think. Help us keep our airplane airworthy and club thriving by donating $100.

$300

30 Big Ones

The Flying Aggies Flight Team has won one of the most prestigious awards in collegiate aviation, the Loening Trophy, 21 times. The Flight Team has also won 9 National Championships! We have earned countless other awards throughout the years, but these 30 are the most impressive!

$750

75th Anniversary

Our goal as The Flying Aggies is to foster community, encourage interest in aviation, and provide safe and economical flying for our members. We've grown so much since our founding in 1948, and we are so excited for what the future holds! Help us celebrate our 75th anniversary this year by donating at this level.

$1,948

Est 1948

The Flying Aggies were founded in the Fall of 1948, making us the second oldest organization on campus! One 100-Hour inspection on N600SU costs almost $2,000. Our members are flying now more than ever, and, as a result, we have to pay for 100-Hour inspections more frequently!

$5,000

Engine Overhaul

The recommended engine overhaul time for Sixty is coming up quick! Help us pay for a new engine by donating at this level.
