Model United Nations at Oklahoma State University exists to bring global awareness to students and provide a vehicle for honing their public speaking and professional skills. Students attend simulation competitions where they have the opportunity to represent countries around the globe in a "mock United Nations". In the simulation environment, students can take the opportunity to practice diplomacy skills, network with their peers, and expand their knowledge of other countries.
Our Model UN team attended (as a group of three) the regional Midwest Model UN Conference in St. Louis last year. Our goal this year is to take a larger team and give more students the four day experience. We also attend smaller conferences closer to home, and students have paid out of pocket for some of these. We want to reward our students who are willing to represent OSU at these competitions by relieving the financial burden of the larger competitions. Having a presence at these competitions elevates the OSU brand and reputations.
Our goal is to one day take students to national and international competitions like the one shown below. Each dollar we raise this year helps us gain the momentum we need to keep moving forward.

2030 is the target year for achieving the sustainable development goals.
