Our Crowdfunding Groups
The Writers' Haven club of OSU-OKC is a continuously growing collection of students who are looking to grow critical reading, writing, and communication skills while being a member of a supportive group that encourages creative expression. Writers' Haven is a group that allows its members to enjoy a safe space that includes snacks, positive energies, and compassionate leadership.
The members of Writer's Haven are skilled writers and craft colorful fiction as well as non-fiction works, poems, passages, memoirs, journal entries, and speeches. Writer's Haven, under the guidance of President Devin Anthony Ellington and Vice President Hira Waheed, will conduct fun and engaging exercises such as; word charades, library trips, 6-word stories, elevator speeches, sentence/paragraph telephone game, discussing the structure of academic writing, de-stressing time in addition to sharing positives from one's day, and small group activities.
The leadership of Writer's Haven would designate donated funds towards off-campus activities such as; trips to the Stillwater campus to integrate and network, organized group bonding outings to local museums or other cultural outlets, attending various creative writing conferences (in and out of state), and trailblazing volunteer as well as community initiative opportunities in order to create positivity for OKC.
