Sociologists Supporting Stillwater is a community service initiative conceived of by the Sociology Club at Oklahoma State University. At the heart of this endeavor lies a deep respect for the community which welcomes Oklahoma State students with open arms each year.
The relationship between the Stillwater community and the Oklahoma State community is a vital partnership which is built on mutual support and a shared commitment to the growth and well-being of both institutions. In supporting our larger community, we foster a vibrant and dynamic environment for both residents and students alike. Sociologists Supporting Stillwater is aimed at leveraging volunteerism, advocacy, community collaboration, and engagement to create a positive impact on the lives of Stillwater residents. In order to do this, we need your help!
Our goal is to address critical issues impacting the Stillwater community--establishing sustainable community partnerships to support ongoing projects which address local needs such as education, environmental conservation, or emergency response. In order to prepare, we will need to purchase equipment and supplies that can be used in the event of an emergency, and tools that can be used for a variety of community service projects.
Sociologists Supporting Stillwater believes in the power of collective action and we invite you to partner with us! Together, we can create a stronger Stillwater, leaving a lasting legacy for generations of Cowboys to come.
The city of Stillwater was officially settled in 1889! On Christmas Day the following year, Oklahoma State University was established. You can help found our initiative with a gift of 18.89 in honor of America's Friendliest College Town! Donors at this level will receive recognition on the Sociology Department's social media!
Currently, the Sociology Club is 35 members strong! This gift represents $1 for each member! Donors at this level will receive recognition on the Department of Sociology's social media! In addition, a member of the Sociology club will volunteer 30 minutes of time in your name at a local community organization!
Contribute to our Community Service Toolbox! In order to be prepared for a variety of community service projects, we will need a variety of tools! Your $50 gift will help us purchase one rake, one shovel, and one pair of work gloves! Donors at this level will receive recognition on the Department of Sociology's social media! In addition, a member of the Sociology Club will volunteer one hour of time in your name at a local community organization!
A gift at this level would enable us to purchase two American Red Cross Emergency Preparedness Backpacks, allowing us to be a helpful resource in the event of local emergencies! Donors at this level will receive an invitation to be recognized at the Department of Sociology's annual awards ceremony, as well as recognition on the Department's social media! In addition, a member of the Sociology Club will volunteer one hour of time in your name at a local community organization!
This gift would completely fund our project! We would be able to purchase emergency preparedness equipment, build our community service toolbox, and more! Donors at this level will receive an invitation to be recognized at the Department of Sociology's annual awards ceremony, as well as recognition on the Department's social media! In addition, a member of the Sociology Club will volunteer two hours of time in your name at local community organizations!
