Support First-Generation Student Success on National First-Generation College Day

Oklahoma State University is deeply committed to providing all students with a nurturing and inclusive learning environment and while we take immense pride in our graduation rates, we are acutely aware that some students face significant challenges that hinder their progress towards earning a degree.

Around 20-25% of OSU students self-identify as first-gen (neither parent nor guardian has a four-year degree from a college or university). While college provides new and exciting opportunities for these students, they often face unique challenges and hurdles as they step onto campus into a world that can be daunting and unfamiliar. By supporting OSU's first-gen programs, you are doing more than helping them earn their degree, you are providing them with the tools and support they need to thrive.

These programs aims to address the main issues that first-gen students face: Financial, Academic and Engagement. By reducing these barriers, students feel more at home at OSU and begin taking their first steps toward their future.

We believe that when we invest in these students, we are investing in a brighter future for our entire community.

Thanks to the generosity of the Milburn Foundation, every gift supporting first-gen programs will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $45,000!
