The Surveying Technology Program at Oklahoma State University – Oklahoma City (OSU-OKC) is proud to announce its inaugural participation in the National Society of Professional Surveying 23rd Annual Student Competition this coming April. This marks a significant milestone for our program, which has consistently been at the forefront of surveying education. For the first time, a team of students representing our program will compete in the nation's capital against 25 other teams from surveying programs across the United States. This opportunity not only showcases the talent and dedication of our students but also highlights the excellence of our program on a national stage.
As we prepare for this exciting endeavor, we are seeking support to help offset the costs associated with air travel, lodging, and other expenses incurred during the competition. It's important to note that the students representing the OSU-OKC program will not personally incur any costs for participating in the competition. Should our fundraising campaign exceed the necessary expenses for the competition, any additional funds raised will be directed to the Surveying Program Excellence Fund Scholarship. This scholarship enables our department to assist students who are facing financial challenges by providing funding for classes, fees, textbooks, and other essential supplies. The fund is designed to support students enrolled in the Surveying program without any restrictions other than its intended purpose of aiding students in need.

In 2009-2010, the Surveying program began transitioning into an online degree, which brought significant changes. The 27 technical hours course has been a part of the degree since then.
The lodging, food, and expenses for the OSU-OKC Surveying team and faculty members are estimated to be $5,600. With 100 donations at this level, these costs can be covered.
The average cost of a flight for a Surveying Team member is approximately $337. With 143 students within the program hailing from 18 different states.
Team shirts and polos embroidered with the program logo and competition date can be provided with a donation of $554.
At this sponsorship level, only four donations are needed to send OSU-OKC's inaugural student competition team to the National Capital to represent the State and the Program.
