Mr. and Ms. Asian OSU Scholarship Pageant

What is it?

The Mr. & Miss Asian OSU Scholarship Pageant is not a program focused on the physical attributes of contestants, but rather on their confidence, poise, ambition, and comprehensive knowledge of Asian culture. Pageant participants are willing to become more knowledgeable on issues facing the Asian community and, if selected as a titleholder, demonstrate involvement during their reign. In addition, titleholders must advocate for their social/educational platforms, in which contestants show great passion (examples include: body image, water equity, music for all, minorities in STEM, etc.). The pageant's goal is to celebrate and bring awareness to students’ rich cultural backgrounds, and recognize scholastic achievements and civic engagement.

Why are we raising funds?

The Scholarship Pageant allows students to become social and community leaders on campus and provides them with the necessary tools to promote their passions and platform. The scholarship helps relieve financial burden on contestants so that they may have the time to positively advance the aims and objectives of the Asian American Student Association and represent Oklahoma State University and the Asian community as role models and spokespersons. Generous donations and sponsorships are what fund this initiative and allow us to keep developing these social and educational leaders. Funds go into the scholarship money for the Mr. and Ms. and the 1st and 2nd runner-ups, decorations, venue, and gifts for our coordinators and judges.
