Who are we?
The OSU-OIL is the longest-standing student organization in the state of Oklahoma. Founded by past Oklahoma LG: George Nigh, OIL seeks to give a one-of-a-kind mock government experience through a hands-on legislative process, moot court competition, and press corps. Students of all majors, backgrounds, and political opinions are both welcomed and encouraged to compete. Students are given the opportunity to function as government professionals through a five-day competition held at the Oklahoma capital, competing individually and as a delegation against various other universities across Oklahoma. Following the success of winning "best delegation" in the Spring 2023 session, Oklahoma State University is returning with high hopes and great expectations.
What are we raising funds for?
The delegation will be traveling to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma for "session". With this, the OSU delegation is sending 48 competing members, the largest of any delegation, and is seeking funds to cover transportation, hotel costs, registration costs, and capital renting costs. This is an excellent experience for students to see political operations in a different region and gain new knowledge regarding that production system. This contest also allows students to gain lasting connections with their peers who will become colleagues as they progress into their future careers.
Thank you for your time and consideration!
Thank you for choosing to support the OSU Oklahoma Intercollegiate Legislature. We cannot wait to update you as the students compete.
This donation will assist th e delegation with the most important thing of all: SNACKS! A big delegation means plenty of hungry and tired students, all of whom would greatly appreciate the help!
The Oklahoma Intercollegiate Legislature was founded in 1969 by Oklahoma LG George Nigh! Goals of education and political activism has allowed such an OIL to exist longer than any other student organization in the State.
This is what it costs to send one delegate from OSU!
Give the gift of one hotel room! Each room will accommodate four students for four nights during session!
Delegates are responsible for partial financial costs relative to attending, staying, eating, and training for OIL. Your gift will help cover costs associated with both for the delegation and several individuals.
