Who We Are:
OSU Dance Company is a Competitive Sport Club on campus that seeks to create a safe place for those with past dance experience to continue dancing in college judgement-free. We have members of all experience levels and encourage growth as a dancer and person through competitions, performances, and outside community service. This group is full of passionate dancers who have expressed how grateful they are for the community we provide. Our members cannot wait to compete for the second year and continue on our tradition of creating a positive and inspiring environment.
Why We're Raising Money:
We put on a spring showcase at the end of each spring semester. This is where all of our members work on dances choreographed by our members for our members! The showcase is where we come together as a club to show off what we have been working on all year. Raising money for this event will help us provide the stage, lighting, sound, and flooring required to put on a great show.
We are continuing our competition team this year, which we started last year. Because this is only our second year competing, we want to raise money to help cover competition fees, costumes, and travel. To help ease the burden on our members, your donation would help us reach our goals and continue to pursue our passions. We also plan to make this a tradition for our club, and we could use the funds in the coming years.
How We'll Use the Funds:
We plan to use the funds to cover registration fees for the competitions we attend, our competition costumes, and food to fuel us while performing. We will travel within Oklahoma and will not need funds to cover that. We will also use the funds to provide the necessary equipment and supplies for our showcase.
Our competitions for the spring are located in OKC, and we will be driving down for the day to compete. Ensuring that our drivers keep themselves and our members safe with a full tank of gas is crucial.
While at competitions, having a uniform jacket will add a polished look to the team and is an easy way to advertise our club at. Additionally, having dancers wear their jackets around campus will help spread awareness of the club and increase our membership and involvement.
Our spring showcase is our biggest event of the year. We hold a showcase every spring alongside the OSU Crew during the later months of the spring semester. This is a great opportunity to showcase our competition dances and student choreography. There are many elements that go into putting on a good show, and your donation will help us reserve the space, have lighting and sound, and laying down appropriate flooring for dancing.
Costumes for competition dance play a huge role in how the dance looks on stage. Having good quality costumes is important so that the dancers can feel comfortable on stage and so that the dancers can look professional and mature. Quality costumes cost more but look better on stage and allow our dancers to feel better while they are performing.
OSUDC competition members fund their own registration fees for each dance at each competition we attend. This donation ensures that dancers will be able to afford competitions and will have a spot in their dances.
This donation puts money towards everything the club is raising money for. Costumes, competition fees, transportation, showcase, and more! This is a very generous donation, but it would have a massive impact on our team!
