What am I (the donor) funding?
The OSU Ethics Club is preparing to attend four events this school year. These events include the State-wide Ethics Bowl hosted by the Mid-America Christian University, the Regional Ethics Bowl hosted by Texas A&M, the National Ethics Bowl held in Norfolk, Virginia, and the National Bioethics Bowl in Salt Lake City, Utah. All funds raised will be dedicated to sending our competitors to these competitions. These expenses include transportation, hotel, and meal costs, as well as competition entry fees.
Why support the Ethics Club?
The Ethics Club fosters discussion on a wide range of multi-faceted interdisciplinary issues, analyzing topics from social and political issues to the morality of artificial intelligence. These discussions are designed to cultivate critical thinking and moral reasoning in young professionals in a non-judgmental environment. The Ethics Club that dissenting views are necessary to fully understand the dilemmas that we discuss, and aims to create a space for all voices to be heard.
We are also excited to establish a community service initiative this year to further promote ethical action to club members and our community as a whole. Our club hosts 10-20 students in general meetings, with competitors and non-competitors meeting to talk about prevalent issues facing our world today. These discussions prepare students to compete in Ethics Bowls, of which OSU has historically been very successful: The OSU Ethics Club has secured a spot in the National Ethics Bowl for 4 years running.
Every donation will help prepare students for success at these competitions and boost the opportunity for students to thrive in ethics. Thank you so much for your support of our mission.
The OSU Ethics Club was established in 2014 and has gradually thrived ever since. Contributing at this level helps us sustain that growth and supports our members!
Fuel our road to success! The Ethics Club regularly hits the road to compete. This level covers the approximate cost of a tank of gas.
Keep our competitors rested! This is the average cost of a hotel per night and is one of the largest expenses for the Ethics Club.
Help us register for competitions! This is how much it costs to cover our APPE Intercollegiate Ethics Bowl® program participation fee and our registration fee for the Regional Competition.
Supporting the club at this level will allow us to empower our members like never before!
