Who We Are
The Association for Women in Communications (AWC) is a national organization that strives to support young women navigating the professional realm of communications. Seven female journalists created AWC in 1909, and over 100 years later, AWC is still committed to its mission of providing opportunities for women to flourish.
Our student chapter proudly encourages this mission. AWC is dedicated to celebrating our differences, expanding our knowledge, and guiding each other to success. We are dedicated to empowering our members to rise as community leaders. With your help, we can accomplish this goal!
How You Can Help
Since we are a smaller club, it is more difficult to find opportunities within our budget.
Your support could help our student members visit industry-specific sites and network with communications professionals.
We also recognize that access to these opportunities should be available to everyone, and plan to use our fund to provide needed scholarships for students who otherwise could not participate. Most importantly, your donation will provide young OSU women with an enriching experience that will prepare them for their future professional careers.
AWC was founded by seven female journalists. Your gift honors our history and the woman who came before us.
AWC was founded 115 years ago. Your gift is representative of the years to come.
Your gift represents all the students at SMSC that we strive to build up.
Your gift represents the six values AWC holds dear: tradition, community, respect, identity, intellect and mentorship.
