Ace was rescued and trained to become a War Dog by Major Lorren Perdue; they flew missions to the Philippines in 1945 before settling in Stillwater, where Major Perdue took charge of OAMC ROTC.

Ensign William Berry

William Berry, who earned a degree from OSU, had already begun private practice as a lawyer when the United States entered World War II. He enlisted, served in Naval Intelligence, was captured during the Battle for Corregidor, and earned a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star. Berry went on to become a judge, serving three terms on the Supreme Court of Oklahoma.
