Model United Nations
Our Big Events: CONFERENCES!
Model United Nations at Oklahoma State University exists to bring global awareness to students and provide a vehicle for honing their public speaking and professional skills. Students attend simulation competitions where they become UN delegates for countries around the globe in a "mock United Nations". In the simulation environment, students get the chance to practice diplomacy skills, network with their peers, and expand their knowledge of global affairs.
Our team is excited to join Midwest Model United Nations for the fourth year in a row. Each year we have improved our skills and team and brought home many awards. Last year, for the first time, each student we took came home with an award. Wow! We want to continue taking new and returning students each year as we believe it is an incredibly valuable opportunity to promote global learning and create better global citizens.

We also attend smaller conferences closer to home, and students have paid out of pocket for some of these. We want to reward our students who are willing to represent OSU at these competitions by relieving the financial burden. Having a presence at these competitions elevates the OSU brand and reputation.
Our Smaller, but Impactful Events: Campus Simulations, Discussions, and FUN Events:
Each semester we put on simulations, discussion, and new types of events on Campus. This year we had an MUN themed escape room! Our club promotes global debate and educates students on campus about new and developing issues around the world. It provides an outlet to discuss and share global perspectives while also listening to others.
We have participated in facilitating high school Model UN conferences and hope to host one at OSU soon! If you know any high schoolers who want to increase their global awareness, don't hesitate to connect us!

Everything that Model UN does and represents, promotes global engagement and learning! We love sharing our perspectives and hearing others. Will you be a part of facilitating these needed conversations at OSU and throughout our community?
