The Purpose of Cowboys to Space

The Oklahoma State Saxes are blasting off with our “Cowboys to Space” theme as we prepare to take our saxophone studio to this year’s North American Saxophone Alliance (NASA) Convention! This national event is one of the premier opportunities for saxophonists, bringing together students and professionals from across the country to share music, knowledge, and innovation. Attendees experience inspiring masterclasses, thrilling performances, and the chance to compete on a national stage.

Last year, our studio launched into new territory by attending the Regional NASA Conference at Missouri State University. The trip was a resounding success, giving our students the chance to perform, grow, and represent Oklahoma State with pride. Our highlight video captures the excitement and achievement of that event. It was more than a trip; it was a stepping stone to bigger goals and brighter horizons.

This year, we are setting our sights even higher. Attending the national convention means our students will not only strengthen their artistry and professional connections but also shine a spotlight on OSU as a leader in musical excellence. The experiences gained through performing on a national stage, engaging with new repertoire, and building relationships with world-class musicians will resonate far beyond the event itself, fueling both individual growth and the future of our program.
