Student Professional and Field Development
Student Professional and Field Development
We aim at sponsoring more students for Regional and National SPE conferences, symposia, and competitions. These events are essential opportunities for students to connect classroom learning with real-world energy challenges, share research, and engage directly with industry professionals shaping the future of energy.
This year, our goal is to raise $5,000 to sponsor 5 students to attend upcoming Regional and National Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) events, including the North American Student Symposium (NASS). The Symposium, held this year in Baton Rouge at Louisian State University, brings together over several universities and hundreds of students from across North America. It features technical paper contests discussions, the PetroBowl competition preparations, energy innovation challenges, workshops, and professional networking sessions led by top energy companies.
Our chapter will represent Oklahoma State University (OSU) in these academic and technical activities. Students will have the chance to present their research, compete in regional and national contests, and network with industry leaders who provide insights into emerging energy technologies, carbon management, geothermal developments, and sustainable operations.
Each student’s travel cost is about $1,000, covering transportation, lodging, registration, and meals. Your contribution directly helps students participate in these transformative experiences. Beyond the Symposium, your support will also extend to other Regional SPE events and competitions where OSU students showcase their innovations and leadership.
By contributing to this project, you are investing in the next generation of petroleum and energy professionals. You are giving students the chance to gain practical exposure, develop leadership skills, and represent OSU proudly at national and international levels.
Together, we can ensure that financial barriers do not stand in the way of opportunity, learning, and professional growth.
