OSU Soil Judging Team is Doubling Down to Dig Deeper in 2025
Halfway There!
As we reach the halfway point in our project, we would like to thank all of our donors! Without your help we would not be able to continue on our journey to the National contest in the spring. Thank you for your support!
Lately, our team has been taking a rest from our big regionals trip and doing some team bonding. In just a few weeks we will start back up with the weekly practices. These practices will consist of looking soil profiles and describing them.
Although we are taking a short break, our spirits are high, and we are one step closer to representing OSU on the national level this spring.
Nationals will be an amazing opportunity to learn, compete, and show the rest of the country what Cowboy determination looks like! We are 11% done with our fundraising goal, so if you haven't donated yet, please consider pitching in to help us succeed in our future endeavors.
GO POKES!!
Celebrating Our Supporters and Our Success!
Project is LIVE!!
We have reached 6% of our goal in just a few days! Our team wants to thank everyone who has donated to our project!
The soils team would like to update everyone on what we have accomplished the past few weeks.
The team traveled to Fayetteville, Arkansas a couple of weeks ago for the Region IV Soils Judging Contest. Upon our arrival, we checked into our hotel and went straight to work. The next three days were busy, busy, busy! We looked at multiple soil profiles each day and learned something different with every pit we seen. Our team learned so much about classifying soils and the importance of soil health.
On the fourth day, we were able to put all of our soil knowledge to the test, and we competed in the contest. The last day of the trip was the banquet where we were named the Region IV champs! We even had all of our members place in the top 15 in the contest. This means that we will be attending the National Soils Judging contest in North Carolina in March 2026!
We know this win wouldn't have been possible without our generous donors! Thank you again for your generosity and blessing to our team!
