About Biotech Day

The purpose of Biotech Day is to establish connections with technology companies in the surrounding area in order to engage with community industry partners, strengthen research commercialization potential, and expose graduate students to career paths beyond academia. Many of the Biomedical Sciences graduate students at OSU-CHS are interested in pursuing a career in biotech or adjacent fields, so this event will help to inspire and inform them by providing direct interactions with industry professionals and offering insights into the skills and expertise valued in the biotech sector. Via presentations from leading experts, panel discussions, grad student elevator pitches, and an innovation competition, students will gain a deeper understanding of potential career trajectories and the translational impact of their research. By fostering these industry-academic connections, Biotech Day aims to empower students with the knowledge and professional relationships needed to successfully transition into biotechnology careers while also strengthening collaborations that drive innovation and economic growth in the region.
