How your donation will help

Hello friends,

This project is to help people who stutter and their families. One of our major projects each year is the COWBOY STUTTERING CAMP.  This camp is a three-week intensive time for children who stutter and their families.  The children receive three weeks of individual treatment, three weeks of group treatment that allow them to practice their skills, three weeks of communication and acceptance treatment to help them accept and cope with the their stuttering, while parents also receive three weeks of treatment to help them support their children.  The camp ends with all children making a public speech using their newly-learned skills, while showing the confidence to navigate in a world that is not always accepting of their stuttering.  Families and friends attend this final day which ends in a party and celebration.

Although we operate this camp on a conservative budget, there is still a need to provide scholarships for those who cannot afford the minimal fee.  We also use your donations to provide each camper with a t-shirt, daily snacks, a trip to use their skills in public, and other supplies and needs.  Any funds not used at the camp will support other initiatives throughout the year, such as a Stuttering Family Day in the spring of each year to bring these families back together, refresh their skills, and promote these activities to other families that would benefit from these programs.
