Pistol Pete's Propulsion Posse - Fueling Our Trip to Ohio
Who are we?
Pistol Pete's Propulsion Posse is a student engineering team of about 50 members that takes part in the Aerospace Propulsion Outreach Program, a national initiative sponsored by the United States Air Force. The team's mission is to design, modify, and test a 22‑pound‑thrust turbojet engine while working through a structured engineering cycle that includes baseline testing, conceptual and detailed design reviews, and a final design presentation. Students receive hands-on training in engine testing and showcase their completed work at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force in Dayton, Ohio. Through this program, members gain direct experience with propulsion systems, collaborate with knowledgeable mentors, and build valuable skills for future careers in the aerospace industry.
What are we raising funds for?
Pistol Pete's Propulsion Posse is raising funds to support travel to Dayton, Ohio, where our student engineering team will present its turbojet design at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force. Funding will help cover essential travel costs such as transportation, lodging, and meals, ensuring our members can showcase their work, gain hands‑on experience in the aerospace propulsion industry, and represent Oklahoma State University on a national stage.
