Cowboys Care Ambassadors
Cowboys Care Ambassadors
The Cowboys Care Ambassadors are trained student, faculty, and staff leaders at Oklahoma State University who serve as visible, approachable advocates for mental health on campus. Through a 90-minute online training, ambassadors complete QPR suicide prevention certification, learn how to utilize the Care Report system to connect peers with campus resources, and develop skills to recognize and respond to signs of emotional distress.
Ambassadors actively promote a culture of care, belonging, and support across campus. After completing training, they collaborate on mental health and wellness initiatives and are offered continued education and advanced training opportunities to further strengthen their impact.
As a symbol of their role, Cowboys Care Ambassadors wear a teal button and an orange bandana to signify that they are trained, safe, and supportive resources for anyone in distress. They also carry resource cards that provide direct access to counseling and campus support services, allowing them to quickly and easily connect individuals to help when it is needed most.
At its core, the Cowboys Care Ambassador program is about ensuring that no one at Oklahoma State ever feels alone — because sometimes the smallest conversation can make the biggest difference.
