Description

Make your impact by supporting our BAE students and staff!

The Department of Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering is working towards endowing a student scholarship and staff recognition award called the BAE Engagement and Support Team Honorary award! By endowing the award, we can ensure that this important recognition and scholarship assistance is available for our department's students and staff in perpetuity.

The BAE Engagement and Support Team Honorary Award was established by the graduates of the 2006, 2011 and 2016 classes to honor and recognize departmental staff that elevate the college experience of BAE beyond academics. The staff of the department have helped shape the culture and the family experience that its students remember. In addition to helping create and nurture the tight knight community that is BAE, the staff have also made a big impact on the recruitment and retention of students.

"Our class recognized that one of the things that made BAE so special was not just the amazing education that we received, or the relationships that we built with each other as classmates, or the dedication of the professors, but so much of the special experiences that we had hinged on the relationships that we had with the office and lab staff. They contributed so much to the overall family-like environment that the department has." -Mary Elizabeth Mach, BAE class of 2006

While this award was established to assist in recognizing the staff that support the students on their academic journeys, its primary focus is on providing scholarships to students who are actively engaged in the department through the department's different student organizations and activities.

Those students and staff who give their time and effort without hesitation are the important pieces of the fabric that is responsible for building the familial culture of the department and enhances the experiences of the BAE community.

We hope you will consider supporting the students and staff of the Department of Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering to ensure that we will always be able to recognize those special individuals who show up and give back for the benefit of the department.
