Who We Are and What We Are Planning for Argonia Cup '27

Cowboy Rocketworks is Oklahoma State University’s student-led high-power rocketry team, bringing together students who share a passion for aerospace, engineering, and hands-on problem solving. Our members take what they learn in the classroom, expand upon it, and apply it to the challenge of designing, manufacturing, testing, and launching high-powered rockets.

Each year, our team works across areas including aero-structures, stability, propulsion with a focus on solid rocket motors, avionics, aerodynamics, both additive and subtractive manufacturing, and recovery to develop rockets for collegiate competitions and test flights. Members gain hands-on experience with composite manufacturing, electronics, simulation, propulsion testing, and launch operations while working together to turn an initial concept into a flight-ready vehicle.

For the 2027 Argonia Cup, Cowboy Rocketworks is taking on another ambitious competition rocket. From raw materials and electronic components to propulsion, testing, transportation, and launch expenses, building and flying a high-powered rocket requires significant resources.

By supporting Cowboy Rocketworks, you aren't just helping us build a rocket. You're giving students the opportunity to develop real engineering skills, tackle challenging problems, gain valuable hands-on experience, and represent Oklahoma State University on the launch field. Every contribution, large or small, helps us get one step closer to launch day.

Help us build it. Help us launch it. Help us reach higher.

Cowboy Rocketworks is a campus organization open to all students.

$10

Launch Pad

Help us get off the ground! This contribution supports everyday materials and consumables used while building, assembling, and preparing our competition rocket.

$25

Avionics

Help us keep track of the flight. Your support contributes toward wiring, connectors, sensors, electronics, and other components used in our rocket's avionics and recovery systems.

$50

Recovery

Getting up is only half the mission. This donation helps support parachutes, recovery hardware, shock cords, deployment components, and testing needed to bring our rocket safely back to Earth.

$100

Airframe

Help build the structure that holds it all together. Your contribution supports materials and manufacturing supplies used to construct the rocket's airframe and structural components.

$150

Payload

Help us take the competition payload along for the ride. Your support contributes to the design, manufacturing, and testing of the systems used to securely carry our golf-ball payload.

$200

Propulsion

Put some power behind the mission. This contribution helps offset the cost of motors, propulsion hardware, ground testing, and other expenses involved in preparing our rocket for flight.

$250

Test Flight

Before competition comes testing. Your donation helps fund the motors, materials, transportation, and supplies needed to conduct full-scale test flights and validate our design.

$300

Mach 1

Help Cowboy Rocketworks push the limits. This level supports the higher-cost materials, manufacturing, propulsion, and testing required to build a high-performance competition rocket.

$400

Competition Flight

Help put our 2027 rocket on the launch rail. Your contribution supports the combined costs of preparing, transporting, launching, and recovering our competition vehicle at Argonia.

$500

Mission Sponsor

Support the mission from design to recovery. This contribution helps fund the materials, manufacturing, propulsion, avionics, testing, travel, and launch operations behind Cowboy Rocketworks' 2027 Argonia Cup campaign.
