Active Minds empowers young adults to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health, create communities of support, and ultimately save lives. We promote the services available from the counseling center and other organization, and we advocate for changes in campus policies and procedures to better support mental health. Last year we had the Active Minds founder, Alison Malmon, come to Oklahoma State to spread awareness for suicide awareness and to tell her story. This opportunity allowed the club to reach new audiences and continue our journey for breaking down the stigma. This year we want to bring in another speaker from Active Minds headquarters however we need your help. We need your help to raise money for this upcoming event.
Last year’s speaker event with Alison Malmon was incredible. Her story of her personal mental health struggles, and how she has worked through them was truly inspiring. We believe that hosting another speaker event this school year will allow us to continue to reach students on campus. We will have the opportunity to create a space for students to be able to connect and realize that they are not alone. These events are truly so important for our students and benefit them greatly. Your support will help us create that space for our students again. Thank you.
