The weather is changing and we are getting closer to the holidays, so we at Active Minds would like to share some information with you about Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). As an organization our mission is to spread awareness about mental health and to promote resources to others. Seasonal Affective Disorder is a depression that is triggered by the change of seasons and is very common around this time of year.

We officially hit our first milestone! We have raised over $1,000!
Thank you to everyone who has supported us this far. There is about three weeks left and we are so excited for what is to come.
This past Tuesday, Drew Robinson, a former MLB player, suicide survivor, and mental health advocate, visited our campus. It was incredible to see him tell his story and to have an open conversation with him about mental health. Our campus Wellness Department created the event, and this exactly the kind of event that Active Minds is hoping to create with this fundraiser. We feel that it is very important for our organization to host an event like this to continue to create opportunities for our students to discuss mental health. The funds will help Active Minds pay for the travel expenses of our intended speaker as well as renting the event space. We will be able to create an open and inviting space for our students to have these important and necessary conversations, just as the Wellness Department did with Drew.
Thank you again for your support.
Our project launched on Tuesday, October 25th, and we are just getting started! Thank you to you all that have supported our project with your gifts and sharing our page!
We are very excited to have this campaign and promote mental health awareness along the way! Thank you for your support!
