In the fall of 2022, Professor Paul Hsu and his family have generously donated $25,000 to create and kickstart the Hsu Family Endowed Creative Graphic Thinking Award in Landscape Architecture. This scholarship honors Emeritus Professor Hsu’s legacy of service at OSU. His enthusiasm teaching graphic and design studios has enriched generations of students.
Professor Hsu began his tenure at Oklahoma State University Fall of 1990 through the Spring 2012 semester. During this time he has taught 1056 students who have been enrolled in one or more of the 96 courses he taught while in The Department of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture.
Since Professor Hsu's retirement he has been working with lead researchers and international students from Thailand to write academic papers. He continues to work with the Kamoka Sister City program and was instrumental in getting the Japanese gardeners to Stillwater and working on the Japanese gardens in the City of Stillwater and The Botanic Garden at OSU. (Oklahoma Gardening YouTube: Kameoka City Gardeners Association) From time to time he helps out in the landscape architecture program if a juror is needed for the Student Reviews, but it's not uncommon to see him working with students of any age.
Professor Hsu and family along with several alumni and landscape architecture firms launched the scholarship drive to almost $34,000. To increase the impact of the award, Professor Hsu and the OSU Landscape Architecture Program challenges our landscape architecture alumni and supporters to come together and raise an additional $10,000 for this scholarship.
