Language Frontiers: Advancing Student & Research Experiences

The Language Learning Lab at Oklahoma State University delves deep into the intricacies of vocabulary acquisition, comprehension, and retention of newly learned information in typical children and children with various speech and language disorders. The lab members collaborate on projects ranging from the cognitive processes underlying vocabulary learning to applying these findings in real-world educational settings.  

Our aim, through this crowdfunding initiative, is not just to sustain but to thrive. We intend to amplify our research, offer our students a wider range of interactive experiences, and foster an environment where budding speech-language pathologists can present their findings on national and international platforms. Presenting research is invaluable, offering students a chance to network, garner feedback, and solidify their standing in the academic community. 

The funds raised through this campaign will be judiciously allocated as follows: 

1. Student Travel: A major portion will facilitate our students' travel to various national and state conferences. This includes covering transportation, accommodation, and incidental expenses, ensuring that financial constraints never hinder their academic pursuits. 
2. Research Initiatives: These funds will also bolster our research capabilities, enabling the purchase of materials, advanced statistical software, and resources. Additionally, it will assist in compensating study participants and managing other research-associated expenses.
