Since 1925, the first time an OSU Livestock judging team claimed victory at the International in Chicago, OSU is home to one of the most successful judging programs in the nation, earning five national championships within the past six years.
Livestock judging is an OSU legacy. Part of the livestock judging experience is training students to evaluate cattle, sheep, swine and goats. To do that we travel to livestock shows and the nation's best livestock breeders to practice. We travel on average 30,000 miles a year. This extensive amount of time traveling provides students opportunities and skill sets that cannot be learned in a traditional classroom. Skills learned are much greater than placing four animals such as time management, decision making and teamwork.
With your support, judging students are able to embark on this experience with limited cost. Your gift will help cover costs of hotel rooms, meals, mileage and contest entry fees.
