Annual OCRID Research Symposium & Seminar Series

Help OCRID in its mission to protect all Oklahomans from potentially life-threatening respiratory infectious diseases. OCRID is committed to support and expand state-of-the-art respiratory infectious disease research in Oklahoma. An important mechanism in the quest for research excellence is to encourage interactions among OCRID members and between OCRID and other national and international institutions. As part of that effort, we host 14 distinguished visiting professors annually through our seminar series and we organize an annual research symposium to spotlight and debate the progress and developments of OCRID investigators and OCRID Core Facilities. 

Our seminar series brings speakers from across the country, who represent the cutting edge of respiratory and infectious disease research. These visitors present their work and interact both individually and in groups with faculty and students from all participating Colleges. This provides not only insights into research that is happening nationwide but also give our junior and senior investigators opportunities to develop collaborations and professional networking.  

The annual research symposium is a highlight for the OCRID community and provides a stage to showcase not only the research being done by our investigators but also our fantastic students. The symposium features nationally recognized keynote speakers, updates on the research projects of our investigators, services offered by our core facilities, and finally a poster competition to showcase student research projects.
