To become a firefighter a student must take a written exam consisting of general math, mechanical knowledge, reading, and comprehension in addition to a psychological exam to determine if the candidate is mentally fit to become a firefighter. Once the candidate successfully completes the written and psychological exam he is eligible to take the physical fitness portion of the exam to determine if the candidate is physically capable of performing the job requirements of a firefighter. This battery of written and physical exams is called the Candidate Physical Assessment Test which is commonly called CPAT.
The OSU-OKC campus has implemented the written portion of the CPAT through the use of the campus testing center and now needs to initiate the physical portion of this testing. Your donation would allow the purchase of some of the much-needed equipment for the physical firefighter testing that would make it much easier for OSU students to gain employment as a firefighter.
