Our Big Events: CONFERENCES!
Model United Nations at Oklahoma State University exists to bring global awareness to students and provide a vehicle for honing their public speaking and professional skills. Students attend simulation competitions where they have the opportunity to represent countries around the globe in a "mock United Nations". In the simulation environment, students get the chance to practice diplomacy skills, network with their peers, and expand their knowledge of other countries.
Our Model UN team attended the regional Midwest Model UN Conference in St. Louis last year, spring 2024. We were able to take 11 students, compared to the 3 we took to the spring 2023 conference. We also came home with SEVEN awards! We want to continue taking more and more students each year as we believe it is an incredibly valuable opportunity to promote global learning and create better global citizens.
We also attend smaller conferences closer to home, and students have paid out of pocket for some of these. We want to reward our students who are willing to represent OSU at these competitions by relieving the financial burden. Having a presence at these competitions elevates the OSU brand and reputation.
We hope to one day take students to national and international competitions in places like New York and Chicago. Each dollar we raise this year helps us gain the momentum we need to keep moving forward.
Our Smaller, but Impactful Events: Campus Simulations and Discussions:
Each semester we put on simulations and discussions for OSU students to join. This promotes global debate and educates students on campus about new and developing issues around the world. For globally minded students, it is an outlet to discuss and share their perspective while listening to others as well.
We also have participated in facilitating high school Model UN conferences and hope to host one at OSU soon! If you know high schoolers who want to increase their global awareness, don't hesitate to connect us!
Everything that Model UN does and represents, promotes global engagement and learning! We love sharing our perspectives and hearing others. Will you be a part of facilitating these needed conversations at OSU and throughout our community?
This donation helps to cover the registration fee for one student to attend a local conference!

Supporting MUN at this level will help to cover a hotel room for 4 students to attend a national conference!
This donation will help us to provide meals at conferences allowing us to lower the financial burden for all students in attendance!
This donation level would help to completely pay for 4 students to attend our spring conference at no out of pocket cost to them.
This donation will not only help OSU students attend local and national conferences but also to put on events that promote global learning in our community!
At the highest donor level, you are not only helping us to take as many students as possible to our spring conference but also helping to pay for development initiatives such as guest speakers, outreach events, and team bonding.
