This project will launch soon. We are excited to share how Oklahoma State NSBE is engineering more than careers through leadership, outreach, and student success initiatives.
Who Are We? O-S-U!
“Being a cowboy isn’t in our clothes, it’s in our character.”
This idea is at the heart of the Cowboy Code that guides students at Oklahoma State University. For the Oklahoma State chapter of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), those values shape how we lead, serve our community, and support one another as we pursue careers in STEM.
The Oklahoma State University chapter of NSBE is a student-led organization dedicated to academic excellence, leadership development, and professional success for students across STEM disciplines. While many of our members study engineering, our chapter also brings together students from technology, business, agriculture, and other STEM-related majors who share a passion for innovation, collaboration, and problem-solving.
Through mentorship, academic support, and leadership opportunities, OSU NSBE creates a space where students can grow as engineers, leaders, and mentors while building a strong community beyond the classroom.

Inspiring the Next Generation
OSU NSBE is committed to expanding opportunities beyond campus through youth STEM outreach and community engagement. Through initiatives such as our collaboration with Class Matters OKC, our members host middle and high school students for campus visits, hands-on STEM activities, and conversations about engineering pathways and college life.

These experiences help younger students begin to see themselves in STEM fields while giving our members the opportunity to mentor, encourage, and uplift the next generation of innovators. For most students we meet, these visits are their first time stepping onto a college campus, making these moments opportunities to spark curiosity, build confidence, and show that a future in STEM is within their reach.

Preparing Students for the Future
In addition to outreach, our chapter focuses on professional development and career readiness. OSU NSBE partners with industry leaders and recruiters to host career preparation workshops, networking opportunities, and professional development sessions that help students navigate internships and careers in STEM.

These experiences allow our members to connect directly with professionals in engineering and technology, gain insight into industry expectations, and build the confidence needed to pursue competitive opportunities.
Building Leaders and Community
Beyond professional growth, NSBE provides opportunities for students to develop leadership skills and connect with the broader engineering community. Through conferences, chapter initiatives, and collaborations with other organizations, members build lasting relationships with peers, mentors, and professionals across the country.
Events such as NSBE regional conferences allow students to connect with thousands of engineers, innovators, and professionals from across the country. These experiences give members the chance to exchange ideas, build connections, and strengthen the community that makes NSBE unique.

Support Our Chapter
Support from donors allows OSU NSBE to continue creating opportunities that empower students to grow as engineers, leaders, and mentors. Contributions directly support leadership development programs, youth outreach initiatives, and professional engagement opportunities that strengthen our chapter and the community we serve.

With continued support, OSU NSBE can keep expanding access to STEM education, inspiring future engineers, and building a legacy of leadership at Oklahoma State.
